Qair is pleased to announce that Buckinghamshire Council has granted planning permission for Straws Hadley Solar Farm, a 49.9MWp solar project near Aylesbury. This marks our third major solar project approved in 2024, further advancing our commitment to renewable energy solutions in the UK.

The project, supported by environmental consultants TEP, will generate enough electricity to power approximately 14,000 UK homes annually, reducing carbon emissions by around 11,000 tonnes per year — equivalent to planting 470,000 trees.

Environmental Stewardship

The project includes a Biodiversity Gain Plan with habitat creation and hedgerow enhancements, delivering at least 65% net gain in habitats and a 12% gain in hedgerows to support local wildlife.

Looking Ahead

“Straws Hadley marks our third solar project approved for planning this year, along with Lark Hill in Rochford and Washdyke Farm in Folkingham” said Sam Burgess, Project Manager. “Securing planning permission isn’t just a milestone – it’s the foundation for building a brighter and more sustainable future as well as helping Qair reach our goal of becoming a leading IPP in the UK. I am over the moon for myself and the team.”

With 140.9MWp of solar capacity approved this year and a 15GW development pipeline, Qair remains dedicated to driving the UK’s renewable energy transition.
