Green Switch, now a part of Qair Group, are delighted to announce that we have received planning permission for Lark Hill Solar Farm, a 50MW export solar project in Essex. The team at Green Switch, along with planning support from consultants at Axis, were able to successfully secure planning consent from Rochford District Council on 25th July 2024.
Covering around 66 hectares, the solar farm will generate enough power to meet the needs of approximately 20,970 UK homes annually and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 27,950 tonnes of CO2 per year. The project demonstrates our ongoing dedication to sustainable energy solutions and environmental stewardship.
A Biodiversity Management Plan and Landscaping Plan will be implemented to establish grassland, hedgerows, woodland and other habitat enhancements. These will enhance the biodiversity of the site which previously had little ecological value, providing a protected area in which nature can thrive.
“We are delighted to have received planning permission for Lark Hill Solar Farm. This project marks another significant step forward in our commitment to sustainable energy solutions.” – Markus Wierenga, CEO.
